Christmas look #1

Soooo am done exams! :D do i hear screams, laughter hehehehe but now am bored :| Yup thats the cycle. You pray to finish the exams with a sound mind and when thats done you begin to battle boredom.

So I decided to actualize an idea :). What i have on my lid is a greenish gold color from the sleek 'me, myself and eye' palette, a plum and black color in the crease from the same palette. I also blended it out with a bit of red from the bh cosmetics 88 matte palette. On my lips I have mink by revlon and my cheeks a really light pink blush from bh cosmetics 28 shadow and blush palette.

Above is a picture of my face moisturizer. I remember those days I used my body cream to moisturize my face which caused my face to dry up alot. Also, my body cream (vaseline lotion in aleo vera) was too heavy for my face so my mom advised me to look into face creams. I did and found this moisturizer which works for me. Its oil free (for oily chikitas like me), lightweight and gentle. This is my second buy in 2months (i use it morning and night) and I purchased my 2nd bottle smiling. You can find this in Shoppers Drug Mart or Walmart. Warlmart sells the product for $12 and some cents while shoppers sells for $18 so the difference is clear :) #teamcheapness #studentliving

Sunday berry blast hehe

Cheesy heading ey! So today i rocked a berry mix to church. I was supposed to wear purple for choir but since i didn't have a purple top, I put on my 911 black on black and compensated with a berry eyes with purple on the crease. I used a gold shadow for my water line
I used the 26 shadow and blush palette by bh cosmetics

I always use a lip combo
Have a blessed sunday!

New Buys :D

I decided to treat myself on black friday so i got .
3 palettes from Bh cosmetics

I got this from shoppers drug mart. Its by a company called essence.
These are the swatches for the essence products. Cost like 2.99 for the shadows and  eyeliner. I fell in love with the purple liner

The party girl palette was a gift for my friend
$10
swatch of my favourite colors from the party girl palette.
Lol I almost thought of not giving my friend her gift. Ohwell

It's the 26 neutral shadow and blush. Love the shimmer can't wait to use it
$10
LOL i know sey the colors plenty...but its for practicing o
$6
Keep in mind, i purchased all this on black friday. No christmas shopping for me. It's only me that buys christmas present in november smh. Anyways I still have the sephora powder to buy then am done done done!!! till a next need arises. This is the link http://www.bhcosmetics.com/

Product crush!

Very Very soon I and 9ja's hot weather will meet again and I've been researching powders that I would use during my stay. I usually use the make studio fix fluid foundation with the mineralized skin finish powder but its like -8 here so my foundation stays put. I don't want to use these products in 9j and end up looking like a bottle of canola oil.

SOOOO.....am thinking of getting  the sephora microsmooth foundation face powder. Yelz i need toh gate it..hehe. It's a pretty good price $26 (US)..but umm in CA the tax will bump the price $2-3 more (Oh canada)

That is hurrr

I think am gonna take my maybelline bb cream. I don't know but i have a love hate relationship with that product. Lol I know in my first post it seemed like I lovef it but noo..not really. I was just hyped because of the hype smh. Its light weight, summer friendly (So they say) so it should thrive in 9ja weather yes?
Anyways, we'll see what i decide

This was the palette used to get the frosty pink look below.
Before i go..this was my 'fotd' yesterday
I did not line my upper lids
Lined the bottom instead and winged it out

Midnight spark and a thought

I decided remake my banquet look by darkening my lower lids and highlighting my inner tear duct. I'm loving smokey eyes this winter. I used my usual

Bh cosmetics palette to create
Face: Mac studio fix NC 45
         Mac mineralized skinfinish in dark
Maybelline it me concealer in dark 35
         Covergirl translucent powder medium
         Blush ( Lancome's rose fresque)

Lip combo (sleek's naked and lacome's oh la la metallic)

So yeah today i was reminiscing and am thankful to God on how far i've come in my clinical rotations. I struggled alot with communication on my first rotation because I could just naturally talk to a patient. Like honestly it's not that easy encouraging a dying patient or anxious family to open up ( especially to a student). I remember my first rotation in a long term care home being so awkward cause the only oldies I ever chilled with were my grandparents (even then never for 8hrs straight) haha. I also freaked out by just giving care in total cause i would think *i don't do anything wrong, i want my care to be perfect*. Thank God my instructor removed that ''all things perfect mentality''. She made me realize that I was on the unit to learn, to gain knowledge and expertise to guide me as an evolving professional.

I applied her advice in my paediatrics rotation and mayne was it ever hectic. I mean I had never worked with so many machines and IV's everrrrrrrr. I felt like a villager on the floor honestly cause I would hear things beeping and I would stand and just stare..as per gaze ..yes I was a serious lucozade boost. I didn't blame myself, cause  I came from 2 rotations where everything was manual. The numerous machines disoriented me. Before paediatrics, I had never seen a cardiac monitor, IV pump or even an oximeter. I did have prelabs before going into the units but trust me simulations and real life are two different things. By my 3rd week sha, I got the hang of things. I was more courageous, open minded, open to making mistakes, open to instructions and suggestions. Thankfully with these mindsets I learnt to suction nasally , administer feeds nasally and start IV medications :) Yay

My therapeutic relationship with families improved ALOT! I went from 'umm', 'umm' To 'How is baby doing today?' or 'do you have any concerns mom'. Ok an evidence of my improvement was when a mom remembered my name on my 2nd shift with her child. As in see me leaping for joy in my heart when she said 'hey chichi, glad to see you'. Trust me families hardly remember a student's name but mehn I was 'hoverjoyed.. yelz it things like this that make student healthcare professionals smile from ear to ear. It definitely encouraged me..It may not seem like a big deal but in health care establishing a relationship is definitely a foundation to a successful care. :D sidenote she even forgot i was a student and thought I was an employed healthcare professional (I scored points with my instructor on that one)

What am I saying: There is always room to grow. When you try something out it may seem so rough, dry, foolish and you just want to quit. But it not worth quitting. Fight it out till the end. The rough edges smoothen out at the end of the day

I have more clinical shifts to go..but am getting there. No social life but it's well worth it :)

Team natural whoop whoop

Makeup 100 :)

When the year started, I remember getting started in makeup and not having a clue what to do . I was pretty much confused because i had filled my head with so much youtube videos (telling me different things). This caused me to buy alot of  unnecessary items but anyways lesson learnt

But for any one with an interest in make up..you seriously need to start off small. So that you don't feel bad if the product is uhhh...well RUBBISH. Example of such.. my mac prep and prime ..like seeing the product really annoys me cause it does nothing lol.

Ok back to the juicy stuff. We all love eye shadows and its not uncommon that love comes at a price lol. But  I can recommend  eye shadows that will keep the love alive for a cheap but still 'quality/quantity price' :D

I introduce to you BH cosmetics. Beautiful isn't she :). Well as a student that works seasonally, I can only get what my money can buy thats why i love this store. Mac eye shadows, sugar pill and makeup forever are pro products, therefore very expensive. Thats why I feel  using bh cosmetics is the best way to start off. The prices of eye shadows range from $11-$20 and I kid you not when I say the eye shadows are QUALITY!

I have the 88 matte palette but you could choose from a wide variety of palettes that come in 120, 40 and 60 colors that are matte and contain shimmer

So check out http://www.bhcosmetics.com/
other sites http://www.coastalscents.com/ and http://shanycosmetics.com/makeup-for-sale ( a bit price compared the bh and coastal scents but very decent)

To allow your eye shadow last you'll definitely need a primer. Honestly speaking when a primer is not used the difference in klear *igbo accent*. The color looks washed out without a primer but vibrant with one. So plz sistehs hout dear, you gara invest ( I have my moments :). In english I meant my girls out there you have to invest in a primer plzzzzzz

A cheap one is the elf eyeshadow primer. http://www.eyeslipsface.com/minerals/eyes/concealers_and_primers/eyeshadow_primer
Even Bh cosmetics has a primer sooo lol that should be your one stop shop

I use the urban decay primer potion but trust that when its done...i'm switching to something cheaper :)

I also have the sleek primer palette which is a pretty good option too
http://www.sleekmakeup.com/
Next is a set of good brushes. A shadow and blending brush is key! Forget about the other fancy names. Their necessity comes with time and practice. Again bh and elf cosmetics have standard brushes for real cheap compared to sigma and sedona lace that have a set of brushes for $80. Like the day I went on that site and saw the prices I thought to myself *one more reason to not just like but love bh cosmetics'
Next key item powder brush or foundation brush (depends on your preference) and the powder puff. The powder puff if from shoppersdrug mart hehe..the brand name is Quo

And of course a foundation or foundation powder. For starters the mac studio fix powder would be best before going into foundations. But if your interested in foundations then one from revlon or sleek would be a good starter

Well that about it for starting out. I think the key is to test out with the cheap products and then try the expensive ones later.

Last practical of the semester! banquet with the FAM

So yesterday I  marked my last shift by attending my church banquet :D so you know I hadda go all out. Everyone was in full effect and trust we all had one thing in mind 'FUUUN' :)
(and thats exactly what I  we did :).

Here is a pic of my Face of the night
If you notice I did bright under eye eye look (maybelline concealer and covergirl translucent powder) did the trick

I and my girl! We looked banging sha :)
As usual! Bh cosmetics is were its at mayne. Pigmented eye shadows for less than $20 :) I meannnnnnn if thats not a deal then I don't know what is.
